A welcome message from Lady Captain Hannah Thorold

When I was asked to be Lady Captain, I was a little hesitant in accepting as I had not been a member for very long, but the ladies and everyone here at Stoke Rochford Golf Club have made me feel so welcome, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it as it will be an honour to take on the position and represent the ladies' section in this way.

It has been a great pleasure to work alongside Jane White as her Vice-Captain, she has done a brilliant job over the last year, she should be proud of herself and leaves me a tough act to follow.

I will look forward to the year ahead working with my Vice Captain, Committee and all the ladies within the section, with the aim to thrive and grow. Golf is a fun and social game and we will work to build on that.

My chosen charity for this year will be Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance. They are a local charity that do a fantastic job in some very tricky circumstances, having spent sometime at their head office, I have a deeper insight into how they work and the help they need as a charity.

I would like to thank the club, committees, greens staff, clubhouse staff and pro shop for all their hard work to make this club the outstanding club it is and one we should be proud of.

I am looking forward to working alongside Club Captain Gareth and representing the club this year.

I would like to wish you all an enjoyable golfing year ahead.

Ladies Section Competitions

Stoke Rochford Ladies section is a small group but an active and welcoming section. Ladies competitions are run on a Saturday and Wednesday to be inclusive for all lady players. The competitions are a combination of fixed times tee which are drawn, and free time to play at any time throughout the day.
On Wednesdays when there is no competition scheduled there is also an informal roll up meeting at 9.00am for those ladies wishing to have a social round of golf.

We are a competitive section, there is the opportunity to play handicap league and friendly matches. We have a friendly and relaxed attitude to the way we play golf and run various open competitions and fun days throughout the year. We are welcoming to all ages and abilities to get involved in golf. We run a taster session at least once a year to encourage new ladies into playing golf. Golf is a good way to get out in the fresh air, exercise and enjoy good company and this is what we strive for.

Members can find the Ladies Competition Booklet which contains full details and the Terms & Conditions for each competition by
